The purpose of the Mentorship Program is to create a program that leads to a meaningful, long-term relationship between a current RNS student (Grade 12) and an alumni or friend of RNS.
Mentoring requires a trusting, confidential relationship based on mutual respect. Mentoring involves a clearly bounded relationship that is close and uncoerced (unlike friendship or parenting).
Mentoring involves a definite time commitment. The RNS Mentorship Program will be reviewed annually.
Mentoring is planned for enhancing specific growth goals and outcomes for the mentee.
Mentors should provide quality feedback, both formally and informally, to the mentee.
Mentors follow a servant leadership model by providing value to another without receiving extrinsic rewards.
