Festival of the Arts

The RNS FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS was a new initiative created in the fall of 2017 to promote the Arts among youth in New Brunswick. We are excited to host the sixth annual Festival of the Arts this fall. Participants will take part in workshops and demonstrate their skills in a showcase and gallery presentation. This year’s festival will take place on Friday, October 25th, with workshops throughout the day and into the evening. Professional instructors will offer more than 30 different Drama, Art, Music, and Dance workshops. The festival will culminate with a performance showcase and art gallery. Students are encouraged to bring their artwork for display at the gallery and instruments to perform.

The workshops this year will include textiles, painting, abstract art, digital art, life drawing, rock band, music composition, instrumental music, vocal health, scene study, directing, costume design, improv, mindfulness, art portfolio review, musical theatre, hip hop, jazz and much, much more!

A new opportunity for Drama students this year is the STAR Festival. The Festival of the Arts is acting as the venue for the NB Regional Competition. Registration to compete in one of the performance categories is run through the Educational Theatre Association of Canada. Further information about the STAR program can be found by clicking here or by contacting Dayna Ellis.
